It should be about Jesus

In this modern world, many of us get up in the morning, brush our teeth, bathe, get something to eat, and head out to our jobs to earn money that will be used to provide shelter, more food, and other comforts. We then get back home, eat, and rest so we can do it all again the next day.

And we do that, again and again, putting ourselves and our interests first.

While this is the case for many of us, Jesus prescribes an entirely different way of living our lives. He says that we should seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to us. In that statement, Jesus clearly makes the things we seek first an add-on. The priority is God's Kingdom. God says that our principal focus should be His reign and acknowledgment of His authority over all our affairs. God wants us to first fill our minds with His glory and presence because we were created for His pleasure. We must not make the mistake of thinking we have a greater meaning and purpose outside of God. When we think about it deeply, everything else feels like chasing the wind when we work day to day without acknowledging God at the center of our toils. We become like animals that are here today and gone tomorrow.

By looking at the design of the nation of Israel as they journeyed through the wilderness to the promised land, God set a structure that the 12 tribes needed to follow. God directed that the tent of meeting be placed at the center of all the tribes of Israel. With this setting, God demonstrated the place He should take in our lives.

We, therefore, must not get carried away by the noise of the world and its many beauties. We need to focus on God, who loves us and wants the best for us. He has taught us to trust Him because it is in trusting Him that we experience our full meaning and purpose.
