I have heard lots of advice ... on Passion, Money, and Talent. I have read lot of books. Also, in the few decades that I have lived, I have seen a lot. Here are some of the things I have heard, and I guess that you may have heard them as well. I will leave you to judge each statement True, False, Partially True, Partially False, Undecided. Take your time to think deeply about these statements. Convince yourself that your judgment is right for each statement. If possible, give yourself examples [ Someone you know or hear of, etc ] ..."Only do what you love !!!"

..."Be realistic, stick with what puts food on your table !!!"

..."Do what you are good at, not what you love !!!"

..."You cannot be thrilled doing what you are good at if you are hungry !!!

..."Money will come if you keep doing what you love !!! [ I wish this were true every time]

..."You will eventually fall in love with the job that puts food on your table !!! The goal of the exercise above is for you to realize how difficult this issue is. "Where should I sit on this set?" [ Passion, Talent, and Money ] is a million-dollar question. Sadly, there is no one-fit-all answer to this question. Why? Because a lot of people disagree on the definition of these terms.

For example, What is true happiness? When can you say that you are rich? Some people believe you can make an impact without money. Some believe that money is essential. Some value quality. Some love dreaming. We do not want to go down the narrow path filled with debates and different worldviews.

Here are three of my findings on this topic. 1) You want to leave all out and get God first. He is the only one who can truly help you find the right balance and where you fit in the set. You cannot know more than your maker. I recall taking my time as a college student to ask these questions and find the right balance. 2) You do not want to be on any of the extremes. If all you have is only Money, Passion, or Talent and no blend of the other trio, it is clear how things might begin to look cloudy and could easily go wrong. We all have a friend who has interesting stories of what and what they plan to do [passion] but no financial power or skill to carry it out. I know a lot of people too who are really good at what they do [Talent], yet struggle financially. Also that you are good at something may not mean you love doing it [ I recall a friend that had the hear for music but refused to learn musical instruments ]. The closer you are to finding the balance and compromise between these three trio, the better and easier life usually will be.

3) The earlier in life you ask yourself these questions and know where you sit in this set, the better because you can make decisions (now) that will further move you from one position on the set to another (future). @Farayola Praise: Farayola Praise is an analog design engineer who is trying to grow once again his once-loved passion for writing. When he is not designing integrated circuits (Chips), he is either writing codes (python), designing graphics, or spending time with God and Family. He is blessed with a lovely wife and a wonderful daughter. (farayolapraise@gmail.com) (03/01/2024)
